Inspiration manifests itself in a myriad of ways: In the mundane, the profane, the sacred, the beautiful, the broken. It can be found anywhere and anytime. The “Inspire Your Heart with Art” theme is designed to help us be more attentive to all that exists around us, to embrace those things as artforms and ultimately use them to foster our creative mojo. All this has the potential to result in a changed heart. Finding new inspiration in any capacity results in deep and profound change, if you really think about it. The universal implications there are real and they are amazing.
In simpler terms, though, this theme could easily be interpreted as a means for outreach and support of the art community, too. It’s a month we can offer our appreciation to the artists in our world. Art has always been a method of self-expression as well as a universally transcendent method of communication. The barriers of language, education, culture and time period become obsolete. Art allows us to share outside conventional norms. The feelings one can convey in a sculpture or painting can be vastly different than what can be verbalized. That’s one of the most amazing aspects of art. It speaks volumes.
