Ahh, yes! Springtime! Soon enough there will be birds chirping and flowers in full bloom. As we have crossed into the Vernal “Spring” Equinox, the sun will cross the celestial equator causing Day and Night to be of equal length. The sun will peer over the horizon of the north pole beginning six months of uninterrupted daylight, while the south pole prepares for six months of darkness. Meanwhile, the rest of the Earth will watch the sunrise due East and set due West. Whether it’s the crack of dawn or near the day’s end, Spring Cupcake Liner Butterflies are a fun and simple craft to get your facility ready for the season! So pull out your extra clothespins and cupcake liners – it’s time to get crafty!
Spring Cupcake Liner Butterflies
You will need:
- 2 cupcake liners
- Clothespins
- Googley eyes
- Pipe cleaners
- Glue
- Glitter
- Markers
To begin:
- First, begin by opening up a cupcake liner.
- Next, fold it in half to create a half circle.
- Fold it in half again to create a quarter circle.
- Repeat steps, 1-3 once more with a new cupcake liner.
- Glue the two cupcake liners together so it looks like a bow tie.
- Clip the clothespin over the cupcake liners to create the butterfly’s beautiful bodice.
- Decorate the clothespin by adding color or glitter.
- Glue the
googley eyes down in place. - Finally, cut and twist the pipe cleaner around the clothespin to create the antennas.
- Fly, Clip, Enjoy!
Cupcake Liners and Clothespins – who would’ve thought? Such a simple, yet, adorable craft to make. And the best part – you can clip them anywhere! We’ve even gone as far as attaching command strips to the back and using them to hang our wall calendar! Add magnets or just clip to a string of twine to make Spring garland!
