This craft is a blast! Making a water bottle ping pong ball launcher looks a little intimidating but the fun you can have after is amazing. We have been launching ping pong balls at each other all afternoon since making these. ?
What you need:
- Water bottle
- Scissors or box cutter
- Rubber bands
- Ping Pong Ball
To begin:
- Take the cap off the water bottle and puncture a hole in the top, then set it aside. (Shown in the top left picture.)
- Next, cut the water bottle in half and keep the top half for the launcher. (Shown in the top right picture.)
- With the top half of the water bottle, cut four even sections about an inch down the water bottle. Take a rubber band and twist it to fit along the four sections like shown in the bottom left image.
- Fold the plastic lips over the band and secure around with another rubber band.
- Now, to grab your cap of the water bottle. Thread a rubber band through the hole you made in the cap and attach the band to the center of the “x” like shown in the bottom right image.
- Time to launch! ?
