To Begin:

  1. Start with a clean sheet of white paper. We used construction paper.
  2. Squeeze a decent amount of yellow paint onto your paper plate. On a separate plate squeeze a little bit of black paint.
  3. Next, using your bubble wrap, dip the bubble side of the bubble wrap into the yellow paint. You may need to use your paintbrush to brush some of the yellow paint onto the bubble wrap.
  4. Once your bubble wrap is painted and prepped, press the painted side against the white paper. When you peel back the bubble wrap, you should be left with a circular/hexagon pattern.
  5. Next, we’ll be using our bee stamp. We were lucky enough to have a bee stamp hand-made for us, but if necessary a trip to Michael’s might save you time.
  6. For this step, you can either use stamp ink or black paint like we did. Coat your stamp in ink or paint and decorate your honeycomb painting!

July is National Ice Cream Month, but you’re not going to want to miss out on National Ice Cream Day coming up this July 21st! What’s that? You have no ice cream? No need to worry – we’ll show you how to make your own homemade serving using ingredients in your kitchen. It’s super easy, and the best part, it only takes 10 minutes! You’re going to want to make ice cream every day after this!

You Will Need:

  • ½ Cup of Half & Half/Milk
  • 1 ½ Tablespoons of Sugar or Substitute
  • ½ Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • Ice
  • 6 Tablespoons of Ice Cream Salt/Coarse Salt/Table Salt
  • Measuring Cups
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Gallon Sized Ziploc Bags
  • Pint or Quart Sized (Sandwich) Ziploc Bags

To Begin:

  1. In your sandwich bag, combine Half & Half or Milk with Vanilla Extract and Sugar. Make sure the bag is sealed well.
  2. Fill a gallon size freezer bag with ice and add salt.
  3. Place the small bag filled with ingredients in the bag of ice. Make sure this bag is sealed well.
  4. Shake the bag for 10 to 15 minutes or until the ice cream thickens.
  5. If the bag gets too cold, you may want to hold the bag with oven mitts or a towel.
  6. Remove the small bag from the bag of ice, rinse the salt from the bag. Open your bag of ice cream and add toppings of your choice!
  7. Enjoy your ice cream!
